Pirates Charities Game Save the Date
On Friday, July 1, the Pirates will host the 15th annual Pirates Charities Game on AT&T SportsNet. On this day, fans can donate to support Pirates Charities and receive special, autographed items and opportunities to come out to PNC Park. New this season, fans can donate at different levels to receive exclusive items unique to the Pirates Charities Game.

On June 17, the Pirates celebrated Pride Night at PNC Park, featuring a Pride-themed gate giveaway, the flying of various Progress Flags along the Riverwalk and a resource fair with more than 10 local LGTBQ+ nonprofit organizations. Prior to first pitch, representatives from a number of local LGBTQ+ organizations were invited to take part in a ceremonial unfurling of the Progress Flag on the field alongside Pirates front office employees, including General Manager Ben Cherington and President Travis Williams. To further the celebration and showcase our commitment to our community members, the Pirates were proud to present financial contributions to Allies for Health and Wellbeing, Persad Center and Proud Haven to help each of them further their mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

On the morning of June 18, members of the Pirates front office gathered to ride in the Grand Jubilee Juneteenth Parade throughout the Hill District and Downtown neighborhoods. The Pirate Parrot and Cheese Chester, along with members of the Pirates front office and their families, boarded a Pirate Ship float in support of this national holiday. The Pirates were also supporters of this year's Juneteenth Youth Sports Festival in Mellon Park on June 11, activating a PLAY BALL experience. All youth in attendance received a Pirates PLAY BALL t-shirt and wiffle ball and bat set.

In addition to the Pirates activation at the Juneteenth Youth Sports Festival, the Pirates took part in MLB's PLAY BALL Weekend by hosting 600 kids for free youth clinics at PNC Park on Sunday, June 12 and activating all weekend at No Offseason, a youth sports complex located in Tarentum, PA. In total, the Pirates engaged nearly 1,000 youth in the game of baseball and softball over a three-day period, joining all of the other MLB teams in a weekend dedicated to celebrating the growth of the game.

The Pirates continued their celebration of their 2022 Military Monday program by highlighting Helping Heroes, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting area homeless and at-risk veterans. Helping Heroes was on-hand to receive a $10,000 donation from Pirates Charities, throw out a first pitch and enjoy the game from the Pirates Charities suite. In addition, the Pirates worked with national grief assistance program, TAPS, to honor members of the Raible family, who lost a loved one in the line of duty, while players and coaches wore special camo-inspired uniforms.
Pirates Youth Baseball & Softball Visits

The Community Engagement team continued its effort to support area Youth Baseball and Softball teams by showing up for games across our community to cheer on our youth players and bring the Pirates excitement to area youth games. This month, the Parrot joined the fun as the team visited the Bianco School of Baseball program in Rostraver Township and even made a special appearance at Andy Bednar's Baseball Camp in Mars alongside his son, Pirates pitcher David Bednar. Keep an eye out for the Parrot at your next youth baseball or softball game!
Art Auction
To showcase the love our fans have for our great city, Pirates Charities is hosting a Pittsburgh Art Auction, featuring original artwork from 10 local artists. Each artist has designed and decorated an official-sized MLB Home Plate. With all proceeds benefitting Pirates Charities Programming, these Home Plates will be available for bidding from July 27-July 30. These pieces will all be on display at the Pirates Yinzerpalooza game on Friday, July 29. Get your tickets now – you don't want to miss this!

Celebrity Care Fest
The Pirates are proud to come together with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, along with HM3 Partners, to promote unity and equity for all at the 2022 Celebrity Care Fest on Saturday, June 23. This annual event will feature music from Queen V, the Temptations, Lou Gramm and The Jacksons. Tickets are on sale now. Proceeds from this event will be dedicated to various local nonprofit organizations, including Pirates Charities.

Give back and win big in the Pirates Charities Gameday 50/50 Raffle! At every home game, fans can find one of our 50/50 Sellers in their bright, yellow shirts located behind Sections 105, 131 (Pops Plaza), 220 (Pittsburgh Baseball Club), and under the Left Fields Bleachers. Every total pot at the end of the day is split between one lucky winner and Pirates Charities. Funds raised through the Gameday 50/50 Raffle help Pirates Charities work in our community. Scoreboard Messages
Commemorate a special occasion by displaying a message on the PNC Park scoreboard during a Pirates home game! Messages are displayed during the break at the end of the fourth inning.
