For the 15th season, Pirates Charities hosted its annual Pirates Charities Game on AT&T SportsNet on Friday, July 1. This annual event serves as one of Pirates Charities' largest fundraisers throughout the year and, thanks to our partners at AT&T SportsNet, provides a way to tell important stories of the impact Pirates Charities makes on the community. Thank you to the many fans who donated! Your support will help Pirates Charities continue to execute on its mission to strengthen our communities through the power of Pirates baseball, focusing our passion and energy on youth baseball and softball, military appreciation, mental health awareness and cancer support.

To celebrate Christmas in July and give back to our community in a special way, the Pirates and Pirates players' wives and families hosted a special event on July 22 in partnership with TRAC Services for Families and Prom Series. As part of the organization's third-annual Back-to-School drive, Pirates families gave 19 local foster girls some big-league treatment and provided outfits, shoes, backpacks and school supplies to help them get ready to head back to school this fall.

The Pirates brought three RBI Teams to Cary, North Carolina to compete in MLB's RBI Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament from July 22-24 at the Team USA training facilities. Our teams competed in the Softball, Junior Baseball and Senior Baseball divisions. Our senior team advanced to the championship game, where they faced the DC Grays. The Pirates trailed early but came back to win the game 10-6, securing their spot to compete in the RBI World Series tournament in Vero Beach, Florida in early August.

The Pirates and CitiSports hosted the 2022 Pirates RBI Baseball and Softball Championships at PNC Park on July 26-27. Over the course of the two days, eight different championship games were played for the different RBI leagues in the Pittsburgh area. Fans watched from the stands as athletes took the field and had the chance to display their talents on the big stage. The winners from the championship games will be honored at a Pirates home game this season.

To showcase the love our fans have for our great city, Pirates Charities is hosting a Pittsburgh Art Auction, featuring original artwork from 10 local artists. Each artist has designed and decorated an official-sized MLB Home Plate. With all proceeds benefitting Pirates Charities programming, these Home Plates will be available for bidding from July 27-31. These pieces will all be on display at the Pirates Yinzerpalooza game on Friday, July 29. Get your tickets now – you don't want to miss this!
